Volunteer Opportunities

During the summer season, the YMCA hires two seasonal volunteers to work at the museum. They arrive before Memorial Day and stay through Labor Day.

Summer volunteers are required to work 32 hours per week. Volunteers between Labor Day and Memorial Day work 24 hours per week for a minimum of four weeks. All volunteers receive room and board.

Volunteers greet guests and work as docents. They assist in collections management and keep the museum clean and orderly. Basic word processing skills are desirable. Some light yard work and maintenance activities are also part of the job. No previous museum experience is required, but strong people skills are a must.

Local volunteers living in nearby communities are welcome year-round. Some of our volunteers work as little as two days per month.

To learn more about volunteer or employment opportunities, contact the museum director. To find out more about working at the YMCA of the Rockies as a seasonal employee or volunteer, visit the Y's website.
